Trivia
- Tully's return from Ireland saw Fernie drop out. Tony Hepburn kept his place at outside right. Billy McPhail played for Clyde but his elder brother was still out injured with a broken jaw.
- Prior to the game at Shawfield, the League B Championship flag was unfurled by Celtic Chairman and Scottish League President, Robert Kelly.
Review
Peacock scored the first goal with another blazer – it looked as though this was becoming a habit! The goal was made by Tully. Tully was involved in a collision with Buchanan in the 17th minute and had to leave the field. Even in his absence Celtic played well with Baillie and Peacock outstanding.
In the second half Walsh's finishing was wild. Hepburn and Tully both had good second half despite Tully going to outside left. Clyde's goal started from a free kick which went out eventually for a corner. From that kick Campbell headed home. Spurred on Celtic and Bertie Peacock found a winner to deny Clyde a share of the points.
The win put Celtic second in the League
