Trivia
- After three losses on the trot some re-organisation was done. John Jack came back in to the left half position, Alex Rollo losing out. Tony Hepburn went to outside right as Collins was moved across to partner Tully on the left with Bertie Peacock dropping out. And McIlroy dropped out and John McGrory came in from the reserves at centre forward
Review
For the second game in a row, Celtic took the lead and came out of the game with no points having lost 4-2.
The team started well and challenged the Clyde goal regularly and in the 21st minute were ahead when McGrory scored from 15 yards. Hepburn was playing well but Collins was playing like a lost man over on the left. Clyde just escaped dropping another goal to McGrory just after the restart. Baird and Stein were in a constant tussle and Baird got away to equalise for Clyde on 59 minutes. Celtic then fell behind to two goals from Ring, and finally, two goals behind, they recast their attack line with Collins and Hepburn changing wings. This released Tully to score from a header of a Collins cross. The pain wasn't over, however, and Ring completed his hat trick in the last minute for Clyde to run out 4-2 winners.
A disastrous game for Celtic.
