- The horrendous run continued and still the winning team that played together could not be captured. Bonnar continued between the sticks. Sean Fallon who had made a remarkable recovery from a broken arm came back as left back.
Review
Gales struck Scotland this weekend and all games were played in stiff winds. Celtic kicked off into the wind and made the early running as ever. Several attempts peppered the Queens goal before they also started to show themselves. Bonnar had to be alert several times particularly againt long clearances which were wind carried. The Queens goal came when Bonnar after collecting a Johnstonee lob was shouldered charged with the ball into the net. An effective tactic commonly used at that time put Queens 1-0 up at half time.
Low and behold the wind abated in the second half when it was in Celtic's favour and gave far less advantage than had been seen in the first half. Fernie should have equalised after 50 minutes but shot straight at the goalkeeper. Paterson then put Queens 2 up. Tully got a consolation goal at the end with a wind assisted free kick which found the net. Ferrnie was singled out in the reports as being appallingly wasteful. Stein was the best Celtic player.
Another loss, another position dropped in the league.
