Review

Tully started by causing Partick Thistle some trouble. In the twelth minute he finished a move that had involved Evans, Collins and McGrory with a terrific shot which beat Bell to give the Celts the lead. Celtic were dominant with Collins and Tully playing at will without any clear threat to goal. Celtic were on their best passing game and Fernie should have finished a move which saw most of the team involved. On 27 minutes McGrory slipped a ball through to Walsh whose shot gave Celtic the second goal they searched for. Fernie, Collins and McGrory all had chances. A Walsh free kick which cannoned off the wal was hit over the top by Collins and Tully very nearly found another but at half time it remained 2-0 to Celtic.
Not long after the restart Celtic went 3 up when a Fernie cross was headed home by Walsh. The Jags finally pulled themselves together to get a consolation goal 11 minutes from time.
