Trivia
- This was the weekend of the Scottish Cup Final between Aberdeen and Rangers which was drawn 1-1. Celtic arranged this Friendly as a team fitness exercise prior to the Glasgow Charities Cup games and the Coronation Cup.
- The exact identity of the 'Rowe' that played at left back is not known. I could possibly be a misinterpretation from the copyist taking down match copy over the phone and it could very well be Alex Rollo.

Celtic made ground through Peacock and Tully, but the former was injured and moved out to the wing.
W Fraser twice made openings for Japp, but got no response before a long shot from Strickland brought Bonnar into action.
Peacock tested Round from an acute angle before Robertson brought out the best in Bonnar with a great drive.
???? Collins left the field with a face injury …….(illegible)……. for United, but they hesitated and Bonnar cleared.
After 25 minutes Hepburn came on as a substitute for Collins and at the same time J Fraser made a perfect opening for Robertson, but the inside man shot hard against the upright.
Evans and Ferniwe weaved their way through the home defence, but the latter's shot was wide of the mark. McPhail also shot high over from 12 yards.
Stein dominated the Celtic goal area until J Fraser rounded him and shot. Bonnar managed to palm the ball out and ROBERTSON netted one minute from the interval.
