Review
Celtic put out a strong team for this game. Having lost the League, League and Scottish Cups, there was a strong desire to bring home at least one cup this season.
Celtic were given a boost by the own goal conceded by Clyde after just five minurtes when Anderson headed through his own net whilst trying to head back to his keeper. Celtic were under pressure for a great deal of time but withstood the Clyde pressure, in fact turning the situation that had prevailed through much of the season around, when Celtic suppl;ied all the pressure but were unable to score. Here Clyde advanced regularly and often but were over-elaborate.
Alex Rollo had one of the best games he had played for Celtic since his debut spell and fans asked why so little of him had been seen during the season proper. Evans, McPhail and Peacock were also cited in the match report as playing superior football
