Trivia
- First Round tie played at Parkhead. The game was replayed on the 20th at Hampden Park.
Review
Celtic had nearly all of the attacking play and still failed to score through a combination of good goalkeeping from the Queen's Park keeper and incompetent shooting from Celtic. Tully picked up an injury after 15 minutes which left him limping for the rest of the game. The Celtic backs were generally sound. Walsh again was particularly profligate in front of goal with Mochan being nearly as bad. In the final 5 minutes of the game Church for Queens had two clear scoring chances which luckily he failed to put away.
The Evening Times snippet said that Celtic could have played the way they did for a week and not scored.
