Trivia
- Evidence of the courts clamping down on hooliganism was provided when the Dundee sheriff sent 1 fan to prison for two months and heftily fined 3 others arrested at the game for disorderly conduct and breach of the peace (basically hooked for fighting on the terraces).
- An unchanged team for Celtic started the game.
Review
Tully was booked in the first half along with Gallacher for Dundee. Fallon struck the underside of the bar with the ball rebounding out into play. Down 2-0 at half time Celtic came back strongly at the start of the second half with Mochan scoring an individuals goal from a shot from a long way out. Celtic were inconsistent and Dundee took their chances. There was a lot of talk of Fallon not being a true centre forward and merely being a stop gap.
