Trivia

  • The continued absence of Higgins saw Collins move over to the left again with Mochan dropping out and John Eric Smith come in for another game.
  • A springlike day in Kilmarnock with the pitch again heavily sanded and hard underfoot making once more for slippery conditions and hardly conducive to good ballwork.

Quick Review

A rarely skillful game but one packed with incident and keenly fought by both sides which in the end made for an interesting game. Both goalkeepers played extremely well to keep the score down to a single goal each. Bonnar made good saves against Henaughan and Jack and at the other end Brown denied Walsh from what looked to be a certain goal just before the end. Rollo also headed a Fernie shot off the line. Celtic's half backs yet again were the difference between the two sides with Evans and Peacock able to control and distribute the ball and Stein standing firm at the heart of the defense. Fernie and Smith were the best of the forwards.
