Review
A rain lashed and windy day with slippery conditions underfoot made for a tricky game and difficult ball control.
"The best football came from Celtic in an Ibrox match more noted for it's long periods of midfield play than anything else. Celtic provided the smoother and more elegant forward play but like Rangers, they had very few scoring opportunities. fernie was always the ball player even if at times he reverted to the one-player-too-many aspect of his game. Boden, Evans, Peacock and Collins were also outstanding. Rangers lack the combined touch of the Celts and their forward line had a quiet day with their wing halfs busy controlling the Celtic attacks. Haughney for all the shock of seeing a right back leading the line at centre forward, made quite a decent job of it.
