Trivia
- Jock Stein was fit again and stepped back into the centre half spot with Alec Boden missing out; Jim Sharkey was also fit and came back in at centre forward with Neil Mochan, the top Celtic scorer missing out but Eric Smith stepping back into the team and Billy Craig dropping out.
- Frank Meechan refused a transfer to Dunfermiline this week. Dunfermiline approached Celtic with an offer for the full back and the club left it up to the player to decide.
Review
A fairly unattractive game with both sides misfiring. Collins got what turned out to be the winning goal challenging the keeper for a high ball from Peacock and firing into an empty net when he won the ball. From the sound of the reports Dundee played good football but were unable to create a goal from their chances. The Celtic defense also sounded frail.
