- After three months out and refusing a transfer to Dunfermiline Frank Meechan was restored to the first team with Peter Goldie moving to right half to replace Alec Boden; McAlindon came back in for Billy Craig. Jock Stein was meant to be fit and was due to play in this game but was rested and Alec Boden was also out with a leg muscle strain. Tully who had also received a knock in the St Mirren game was judged fit to play.
