Trivia

- Last game of the season and Celtic released the following players: John McPhail, who would choose to retire and go into journalism, Jimmy Docherty (who had been on loan at Alloa and chose to join them full time), Jim Rowan (had been on loan to Stirling Albion and would soon join Clyde), Frank Whyte (he would go on to join Swindon Town for next season), Hugh Fletcher and D Duffy (who had both played entirely for the reserves – Fletcher going to Carlisle Utd,) and provisional signings Jimmy Burns and John Burns.
