Trivia
- An unchanged side for Celtic.
- This season the Quarter finals were played as two legged affairs.
Review
Excellent Celtic football produced a 6-0 win in a match which started in the rain and ended in the gathering gloom. Everyone played well including Beattie in goal who denied Dunfermiline what looked like a certain goal before Collins opened for Celtic. Fernie in particular was outstanding with more calls going up for his inclusion in the full Scotland side. Collins got the first with a powerful shot after a neat move with Mochan. Colville passed back to his goalkeeper who wasn't there and saw the ball trundle over the line for the second. Mochan's goals were typical rockets. Billy McPhail's first goal came from a superb dribble out of defense from Fernie after a Beattie throw out and his second just before the end was a header from a Collins cross.
