- Bobby Collins had to go off in the first half with an ankle injury that was later diagnosed as a broken ankle.
Review
Though Brown was the busier of the keepers in the early stages it was Dundee who scored first when Black shot home. Soon after Collins was led from the field in obvious pain with an ankle injury sustained in a tackle. Dundee piled on the pressure with Celtic down to ten men and they were lucky to keep the score down to 1-0 against at half time. With Collins off to hospital for an X-Ray on his ankle the 10 Celtic men put pressure on Dundee at the start of the second half and this almost paid off when Billy McPhail had two efforts well saved by Brown. Fernie had a corner rebound from the crossbar. Against the run of play Dundee scored a second when Chaklmers centred for O'Hara to score. Mochan pulled one back when a Fernie shot rebounded from the post.
