Review
Celtic started well with Fernie, Sharkey and Ryan combining. Beattie was forced to make some early saves and in the 21st minute pulled off a wonder save to keep it goalless. It was still goal less at half time. St Mirren pressurised the Celtic goal at the start of the second half but without scoring. St Mirren had the ball in the net but the referee brought play back for an earlier foul by Jack and ignored the advantage rule. Celtic scored against the run of play and from a Ryan corner Mochan hit the ball on the volley to rocket the ball home from 12 yards. A confident Celtic now went on the attack and six minutes from time Fernie cut the ball back to Higgins who unleashed a fierce shot from 10 yards.
