Trivia
- Following the disturbances at Ibrox and the toothless loss to Rangers on the previous day, Celtic faced Kilmarnock at home with the only change being Frank Meechan dropping out and Jim Kennedy coming in at left back.
Review
Not an exceptional game by any mark and a poor surface on the park. Mochan got the opening goal from a Tully cross but in heading it home he was injured in a collision with ex-Celt Willie Toner. He went off and did not reappear till 25 minutes into the second half. Kilmarnock equalised when Celtic were down to 10 men when Harvey eluded Kennedy and crossed for Mays to shoot.
