Trivia
- Bertie Peacock returned from international duty allowing Mochan to move forward to outside left with Tully dropping out.
Review
Yet another drab game at the end of a dull season. From reports Hibernian's goalkeeper appeared very busy and Celtic as wasteful in front of goal as they had been all season. The first half was goal-less. Hibs opened the scoring but there was an immediate reply from Celtic when Fernie equalised from a Ryan pass. Meantime John Jack had to retire due to injury and Bertie Peacock went to centre half. Two minutes from time Haughney converted a penalty after John Higgins was tumbled over in the area.
