- Celtic definetly played a Friendly game against Dundee on this date to open the new Dundee St Joseph's ground. Celtic played a team largely composed of the Reserves, part-timers and those on the fringes.
- 17 year old Jim Conway started the game for Celtic and scored two goals. A young Alan Gilzean played for Dundee and won a prize for scoring the first goal.
