- A resilient Aberdeen side who had so far this year won all their games.
Review
Celtic should have won this game hands down but were prevented by Morrison in the Aberdeen goal, whose one mistake all game let in Collins. Byrne, Wilson and Ryan were wasteful in front of goal with Ryan missing a penalty after 32 minutes when Hogg handled. Evans ran the show cooly distributing the ball and Bobby Collins again showed his class. Bertie Auld played well and was unlucky not to score when he hit the crossbar. Byrne had a second half goal disallowed for offside, as he was far too many times all game.
