Trivia
- A straight swap saw Fernie go back to right half and Eric Smith move forward to inside right. It was thought on the Monday that Bobby Evans would miss the game having picked up an ankle knock in the Cup tie against Clyde. Billy McPhail was still injured from a knee twist picked up in training before the Clyde Cup tie. However he was back in training as indeed was long term absentee Charlie Tully. Tully had been recovering from a leg injury picked up against Airdrie on November 30th.
- The game was a Wednesday afternoon game and kicked off at 4:15 pm
- Having lost the Cup tie to Clyde ending any further participation in that competition, and being so far behind in the League, it looked set to be a long end to the season with little extra to play for. Interviewed in the Evening Times Bob Kelly said that the club would more than likely experiment in team selections between this game and the end of the season.
