Trivia
- I am indebted to the work of the Celtic Graves Society for details of this game.
- This was a Benefit game played for the dependents of Jim McLean, an official with Duntocher Hibs who had recently passed away. Jim McLean was a well known figure in Junior football circles and had done much to promote football at that level.
- As noted by the renowned Celtic historian Eugene MacBride, 6 of the Celtic players were provisional signings (Paddy Crerand, Billy McNeill, Charlie Gallagher, Roy Paton, Joe Logan & John Colquhoun) and on that basis I had not included the match in my first team stats as I regarded this as a Celtic reserve team or at best a Celtic XI fixture.
