Trivia
- With the fixture league congestion the games came thick and fast for Celtic. This was a Monday evening game following the Saturday away game to Aberdeen.
- Bertie Peacock missed his first game of the season away on international duty for Ireland and Mike Conroy came in at left half.
Review
Celtic's performance in the first half was woeful with poor passing and off target and feckless attacking. They received their payment with Queens taking advantage and scoring first then retreating to 11 men behind the ball. Davie Holt was then injured in a collision and stretchered from the field on 25 minutes having to go to hospital for attention to an eye injury. Sammy Wilson pulled one back to make it equal at half time. In the second half Celtic ran riot and scored at will.
