- The Scottish League played it’s last games on Saturday 10th May when Clyde drew 1-1 with Third Lanark and Rangers were beaten 1-0 by Dundee. Celtic finished a creditable third on 46 points behind Rangers on 49. But the League was taken by Hearts who accumulated a massive (for the time of two points for a win) 62 points from their 34 games.
- Willie Fernie was added to the 22 players for Scotland at the World Cup in Sweden when Tommy Ewing of Partick Thistle had to withdraw due to his committments with the Army.
- Former Celt, Willie Cringan died at his home in Bathgate on 12th May.
- Dick Beattie injured his hand during this game – its not clear from later reports if he broke the hand or tore the ligaments and tendons. However he had to go to hospital and the hand required an operation later after assessment. He returned to Glasgow with Frank Haffey taking over in goal.
- kitchenbrand of Rangers and Maguire were drafted into the Bohemians side at invite for this game.
