Review
The ground and surrounds had a light covering of snow before the kick off. Colrain opened the scoring when the Binos keeper failed to hold a free kick from McVittie and Colrain tapped home. Colrain was ready to pick up any loose ball and Smith had to be doubly alert. The Celtic defense was in top form and the second goal duly arrived from Divers from a Colrain pass. Jackson then scored with a well judged header before Divers added his second and Celtic’s fourth.
After the interval Colrain added a fifth before McVittie added a sixth. At 6-0 up the foot came off the gas, and allowed Stirling in with two goals in the 63rd and 65th minutes, Gilmour getting both. In the 72nd minute Colrain added the seventh and there was still time for Stirling to pull a third goal back.
Celtic were worthy and assured winners.
