Review
Honours were even at the start but in the seventh minute Celtic went behind and then immediately levelled. Coyle put Clyde ahead and from the restart Colrain strode through the middle and hit a shot which deflected off the upright with McVittie picking up the rebound and scoring. Both sides continued to play good football with both keepers in action. Celtic through Auld and Colrain were getting the better of the chances. At half time it remained 1-1.
Divers and McVittie had chances in the second before Colrain scored in the 53rd minute, his shot deflected past McCulloch. With their heads in front Celtic went out for the third and again it was Colrain who provided the finishing touch after a McVittie shot had been parried.
A better month for Celtic rising from ninth to sixth. Rangers had taken over at the top displacing Hearts who, with a crisis of confidence, had dropped to third. Motherwell had been sitting in second but also had dropped points and were fourth. The surprise second runners were Airdrie.
