Review
A heavily sanded pitch but playable. Celtic started well with two attacks that saw Divers go close. Paton went close before Colrain nearly pulled off a stroke by attacking the keeper and winning the ball as it was being kicked out. Lucky for McCulloch he managed to save it on the line. Had it gone it, it would not have stood as Colrain was penalised for dangerous play. It was all Celtic, and Clyde had another lucky escape when a Mochan free kick was flicked on by Colrain and Conway's shot hit the base of the post. Clyde's first shot came on 24 minutes. Celtic continued to push hard with even Mochan getting in on the attack front. Despite all the pressure it remained 0-0 at half time.
Clyde came out for the second half a more lively team than the supine display they had given in the first half. Haffey had to make two sharp saves before Celtic went into the lead on 54 minutes. Colrain and Divers carved open the Clyde defense and McVittie provided the finishing touch from a Divers shot. A goal down, Clyde decided to fight back and 15 minutes from the end they had an equaliser when a corner from Herd was prodded home by Ring. Celtic then had to hang on to the end with Haffey called on to make two important saves.
