Review
Celtic started well but it was Hearts that took the lead after just six minutes with a well executed goal with Bauld centring for Smith to head home. Bertie Auld was getting the better of Kirk and having a great game. In the 37th minute Bertie Peacock hit a flyer of an equaliser from thirty yards that marshall did not even move for.
The second half continued as the first with Celtic looking classy and all to play for. But in the 60th minute Bauld met a Bowman cross to head home and Celtic started to flag after fighting so hard. To add further injury Hearts were awarded a penalty on 72 minutes and despite all Haffey's attempts Thomson made it three.
