Review
A meagre 5,000 turned up to watch this Tuesday evening game.
Despite the usual array of backs and half backs barring Fallon in goal the defense was strangely ill at ease. Celtic started well and efforts by Mochan, Colrain and Chalmers were well saved by Freebairn. Evans appeared to have trouble with the speed of Smith. On 20 minutes Fallon was beaten by a shot from McParland. After that the Jags passing was smoother and their defense coped adequately with any Celtic attack. In the second half Colrain went to the wing with Chalmers moving inside. A Kennedy pass back was intercepted by Smith who easily made it two for Partick. Smith then helped himself to two further goals with his spped and intelligent service from McKenzie. All the Celtic players looked out of sorts barring Stevie Chalmers who got both the Celtic goals late on.
