Review
Celtic got off to the best of starts when after good play Mochan cooly lobbed the keeper for the first goal. After much Celtic pressure and squandered chances, Chalmers got the second on 33 minutes with a solid shot and followed that up eight minutes later with Celtic's third, when he slipped the ball past the goalkeeper following a corner.
The second half pace was a little brisker than the start-stop action of the first half. Evans and Baker were having a good tussle and up front for Celtic, Mochan proved to be the handful for the Saints defense. With twelve minutes left to play Gemmell pulled one back for St Mirren closely followed by a goal from Baker. With their tails up St Mirren pushed for an equaliser which duly arrived from Miller.
