Review
This was John Hughes first team debut game and he scored not long after the interval. He also set up Neil Mochan's goal and looked to be some prospect at 17 years old.
The game started with Celtic pushing for an early goal and Hughes missed a sitter after just half a minute and the miss seemed to unsettle the forwards. Celtic had the dominant part of play but failed to score and the teams were level at 0-0 at half time.
Hughes scored with a header from a Peacock cross after the restart. celtic csarried on in dominant mode against a shot-shy Third Lanark. A second goal came from Mochan on 74 minutes from a neat pass from Hughes.
