Review
Celtic started well playing against the wind and in the tenth minute should have gone ahead when a Carroll shot beat Connachan but not the post and Chalmers flashed the rebound over. He atoned with two better shots which were well saved by the Dunfermiline goalkeeper. Poor finishing continued with Carroll missing from 6 yards. Finally the opener came on 23 minutes. A cross from Chalmers was missed by Hughes but Carroll was there to stab the ball home. Not more than five minutes later Dunfermiline were level after a corner was dealt with poorly by the Celtic defense and McDonald put the ball away at the second asking.
The second half saw a tactical switch with Price going to centre forward, Jackson to left half and Hughes to inside right. This seemed to help Dunfermiline more than Celtic. After 10 minutes Price moved to outside right and Chalmers went into the centre. Celtic were struggling and The Pars missed a golden chance to go ahead. Twelve minutes from the end came a Celtic winner. Carroll received the ball and his shot beat the unsighted Connachan.
This win, along with good performances through September and October saw Celtic climb to fourth in the League
