Trivia
- The closing League game of the season
- In came Charlie Gallacher for the final game of the season in a reprieve from the reserves where he had been all season. Alec Byrne made way whilst Brogan was moved yet again over to the left side. John Hughes was still absent recovering from a leg injury.
Review
Celtic started at pace and had the ball in the net early when Crerand split the defense with a 30 yard pass leaving Bobby Carroll to trundle the ball home. Gallacher played well for his only start of the season. Carroll got a second from a Divers pass. The play slackened even more in the second half with Delaney putting through his goal and Stevie Chalmers grabbing a goal at the end.
