Review
Alec Byrne was the start of the show at the beginning of the game making runs and crosses. Half a minute from half time Hughes got the opener with a shot from a Crerand pass.
Dundee Utd began the second haldf with an injured Gillespie moving to outside right. The Arabs defended well and Celtic were having trouble getting into clear goal scoring positions. Byrne was having a wonder match and in 63 minutes he was pulled down in the box. Crerand converted the penalty. Gillespie went off and Dundee Utd conceded another two playing with 10 men hen Hughes scored a great goal and Gallacher headed home a Byrne corner.
Half way through the Group stager and Celtic were in a good position at the top of the table.
