Trivia
- Jackie Cox, ex-manager of Ayr Utd and Hamilton Accies was appointed the new manager of St Mirren.
- Bobby Murdoch was again fit and came in at the expense of John Divers.
Review
Conditions were very slippery underfoot. Celtic adapted quicker and powdered the Falkirk goal with shots. Both Murdoch and Hughes gave their defense a tough time. Hughes got the opener from a Crerand pass. The second half continued in similar fashion. Hughes got a second after the work was done by Chalmers and Gallacher. Lambie added a consolation goal for Falkirk.
At the end of the year Celtic sat 5th in the League
