Trivia
- A Tuesday night 7:30pm kick off.
- Hughes was fit again and back in training but did not make the game. Instead Celtic brought back Stevie Chalmers at centre forward for the ineffectual Alec Byrne. Murdoch was also out with a knee knock and Charlie Gallacher coming in on the right. Jim Kennedy was fit again and back at left back.
Review
The first half was a somewhat dull affair with Celtic dropping into old form and missing so many chances in front of goal. It wasn't until 60 minutes gone that Celtic upped a gear when Brogan beat three players to score a great individual goal. He got a second five minutes later from a brilliant pass from Charlie Gallacher. McNamee headed home a third from a Gallacher corner and Chalmers hammered home a fourth from close range just before the end. Bobby Craig had a real off game in terms of shooting.
