Review
Celtic got a first minute reprieve when John Clark cleared off the line. The first half was busy on both sides with frequent attacks and counter-attacks at both ends and made for a thrilling game. Jimmy Johnstone was playing well and Fallon slowly found his feet in the Celtic goal. Hughes got the opener for Celtic when Johnstone crossed for Chalmers. The centre forward took the ball on and crashed in a tremendous shot which crashed off the post and Murdoch was there to pick up the rebound. Ten minutes after the restart Hibs new recruit from Hearts fired in a tremendous shot from 30 yards which Fallon could not stop.
