Review

A game played at tremendous pace with Celtic starting off at hurricane speed.Queens also had their chances but after wave after wave of attacks poured on their goal it was only a matter of time before Celtic broke through. The man to do that on the half hour was Jimmy Johnstone. A cross from Kennedy on the left was met by Johnstone with his head for a rare headed goal. Johnstone and Hughes were having a ball and Queens had to look to their defense and last ditch saves. The second half continued in a similar vein but Queens refused to give up. Ball in goal was having a brilliant game. It took to just before the final whistle for Celtic to get a second from Chalmers.

The end of the year saw Celtic in their best position in the League for some time having had a month with 3 wins and 1 draw. They sat third with Rangers three points in front. The Foe had been knocked off the top of the league by Kilmarnock. But looking at the table it is clear to see there was no room for error.
