Review
A noticeably better performance from Celtic that the one in the first game at Celtic Park. Murdoch got the opener from a header from a Gallacher corner. With the lead established Celtic gained the upper hand and from that point onwards Thirds were on the back foot. It took till eleven minutes into the second half though to score a second. This came when John Hughes took a long pass from McNeill, made his space and scored. All round the team looked good with McNeill and Young standing out in defense. Again this was another niggley game with a number of personal feuds going on around the ground. Celtic were lucky not to concede a penalty when Gemmell brought down Anderson down in thye first half and this was the flag for the fouling and hacking to begin. Referee Brittle was lenient and failed to get on top of the infringements which therefore multiplied. By the end Hughes and Murdoch came off with injuries that were a worry for Saturday's Cup game against Morton.
