Review
Celtic began well in their usual bustling style but were met by a well ordered Dundee defense. In the 18th minute Gilzean broke with the ball and laid it out to Penman, and then was in the perfect place to head his cross past Fallon. Dundee continued to have the better of the play throughout the remainder of the first half and well into the second. But they could not beat Fallon again and Celtic were just as troubled in front of the Dundee goal. Chalmers was roundly booed for five minutes with the number of easy chances he missed.
Fifteen minutes from time Gallacher scored a thrilling goal with a 35 yard shot which shook life into both teams and it was Chalmers who got the winner for Celtic just before the end.
