Trivia
- Celtic were again in the market for a striker and their target was the young Harry Hood at Clyde. The clubs had agreed a fee of £20,000 and it was down to the player which would have seen him move from part-time to full-time. Hood turned the club down and wanted a vastly improved personal offer and the deal was off.
- On 6th November Celtic transferred Duncan MacKay to Third Lanark. He immediately made huis debut for Third Lanark at right half.
- John Hughes and Tommy Gemmell had recovered from injury but John Clark was definetly out, Bobby Murdoch dropping back to right half; and Charlie Gallacher doubtful. Hughes came in at outside right, Johnstone moved in one and John Divers was reinstated.
- John Cushley, Celtic's academic centre half missed his graduation from Glasgow University with an MA in English and History
Review
Another shock for Celtic who went 3 goals down in half an hour. Fallon was unsighted for the first. But he was completely beaten by the second, a forty yard sizzler from Kerray which he thought was going wide. In thirty minutes St Johnstone got a third from the head of McGrogan. Cushley was booked during the game.
