Trivia
- Celtic arrived back in Glasgow and immediately started preparing for this League game against Falkirk. Falkirk were not to be taken lightly.
- Clearly out was John Clark who had spent all the second half against Barcelonaas a spare part player on the right wing. Bobby Murdoch dropped back, and back in came Charlie Gallacher and Hugh Maxwell.
Review
The Bhoys got back on the winning trail after three losses on the bounce. Maxwell had the ball in the net after 10 seconds. Maxwell linked up well with Hughes on the left. The Falkirk keeper had a busy first half. On the stroke of half time Simpson saved a ball right on the line and two minutes before Chalmers had had to hobble off to the pavilion.
In the second half Chalmers moved to outside left when injured with Hughes moving to centre, and scored with a fine pass from Gallacher. Falkirk fought back in the second half but could not find a way through though Kennedy did his best to help them with a well short pass back. Eleven minutes from the end Hughes got his second with a header.
