Review
After an opening flurry from Falkirk Celtic pulled themselves together and were unlucky not to go ahead early when Whigham had to hastily undertake a double save with McBride in close attendance. It was Falkirk however who went into the lead when a quick taken corner was hit hard by full back Lambie on ten minutes. The reply was quick in coming with McBride setting up Lennox whose shot was true. These two were fast becoming a Celtic double act able to read and predict each others movements. Back on equal terms Celtic piled on the pressure all members of the team raising their game. Against the run of play however Falkirk pegged a second goal when Wilson hit a good shot. Both teams were clearly up for the game and the 2-1 score at half time gave a clear indication for a lively second half.
Fifteen minutes into the second the scores were level when Murdoch volleyed past Whigham. Graham put Falkirk ahead again only to be countered by a Jimmy Johnstone goal and six minutes from time Lennox put Celtic in front for the first time with the team holding out to the final whistle.
