Review

The second roughouse game in a row with Clyde players looking in some cases to maim Celtic players. Jimmy Johnstone in particular came in for some further treatment to the injuries he had already sustained. However referee Stewart was indulgent and let Clyde get away with their behaviour without even reprimanding them. Bobby Lennox was a victim of a McHugh scything and required treatment on the field. Bobby Lennox scored in the fifth minute and from that point Celtic were never in danger of losing.McBride put away a penalty and scored the third just before half time. He got his hatrick in the second half after Lennox had put Celtic four up. And Steve Chalmers chipped in before the end.
