Review
Celtic got off to a flier when Bobby Lennox when two Ayr Utd mistakes allowed him to side foot into the net. Ayr pulled themselves together and kept it tight for the rest of the half with Celtic misfiring in front of goal. Bertie Black puleed an equaliser back for Ayr but just before the whistle for half time Hughes pulled a goal back to go in 2-1 up at half time. Celtic dominated the second half scoring another three goals.
