- Celtic are interested in Joe Gilroy of Dundee but nothing materialised.
- Celtic appealed to the supporters to stop the 'lifting over' of boys at the turnstiles. In an effort to stamp this out they introduced an adult-and-child gate with the same entrance fee at the London Rd. end of the Celtic end. It was an attempt to stop the invasion of the ground by kids every time the Bhoys scored, which was annoying and took time to clear every time. The 'invaders' were thought to be the hordes of left-overs.
- Celtic named an unchanged side for this game. Hughes was still unfit and on the road to recovery from his knee ligament injury.

Review
Celtic marched on unbeaten after being put under serious pressure by Hearts in the first half. At half time they were only the one goal to the good, and that from an own goal from Miller, the left half, when the ball went into the net as he tried to kick away a Lennox goal bound shot. It might have been one goal in front on the scoreline but Hearts were nowhere to be seen and the play had been all Celtic and more a case of men and boys – or rather Bhoys and boys.
The one way traffic continued in the second half. In the 76th minute McBride scored a great goal . Like the previous week one minute from time Celtic were awarded a penalty. Up stepped McBride to score from the spot.
