Review
Celtic went top of the league with an easy 5-0 win over Falkirk, who appeared to have little to counter the ease, skill, fitness and poise of Celtic. Falkirk attempted to play a defensive game and were poor when they tried to attack, eassily snuffed out by McNeill and Clark and the full backs. Steve Chalmers opened the scoring with a hammered goal on 25 minutes and Bertie Auld added a second five minutes later. 2-0 up at half time the same continued in the second half. John Hughes added another rocket from 30 yards out. A minute later Tommy Gemmell added from the penalty spot after Jimmy Johnstone was brought down in the area. And Steve Chalmers got his second with a quarter of an hour to play. 5-0 up with little response from Falkirk, Celtic took their foot off the peddle somewhat.
