Review
Celtic got back to winning ways after their South American travels but with an odd shaped team. On the day of the game Jim Craig and Bobby Lennox both reported in sick. Jim Brogan and Willie O'Neill were rapidly drafted in with Bobby Murdoch going up front and Brogan taking his place at right half.
Jim Brogan got the first goal after heavy Celtic pressure shooting through a maze of players from the edge of the penalty box. It was pretty much all Celtic pressure and Airdrie desperately clung on.
Bertie Auld had to go off injured early in the second half and on came Joe McBride to a great cheer. In the second half Murdoch was in the right place to prod the ball home for a second.
