- Celtic left for Miami from Prestwick on the 16th May for a short holiday in Florida before this game. Before the 16-strong party left they found out from the organisers that the tour had been cut from four games to three with the game planned for 28th May against the Rochester Lancers dropped from the schedule.

- Tommy Gemmell was missing from the team having picked up a groin injury in training before leaving for the USA. He travelled hoping that the time in Miami would heal the injury but it proved difficult to treat and failed to respond. After the game here the decision was made to send him home for treatment and he arrived back in Glasgow on the 1st June with an appointment to see a specialist.
Review
Celtic played well in the first half and impressed onlookers with their quick passing and movement.
Wallace opened the scoring after Belli could not hold Gallagher's powerful shot.
After Angelino equalised Milan grew stronger and Trapattoni hit a post before Simpson saved from Sormani at the death.
