Review
Celtic went top of the league with this hard fought win equal on points with Dunfermiline but ahead on goal average.
With Hughes, Murdoch and Johnstone out the team took some time to find their feet. They fought hard in the first half with the wind in their favour but could not get the ball past Cruickshank. Chalmers got the goal that settled it in the middle of the second half, coming from a header from a Tommy Gemmell cross. Gemmell had earlier been carded.
Willie Wallace injured his ankle in this game to add to the list of Celtic casualties.
